FDT86256 MOSFET Power Module – $15

 

Do you want to boost the power on your (tr)uSDX transceiver or the QRPGuys AFP-FSK Digital Transceiver lll ? Try this triple FDT86256 MOSFET add-on board. It uses the same size board as our popular (tr)uSDX BS170 heatsink board and is installed in the same location, as a plug in modification with pin sockets at the Q3 position. It replaces your currently installed BS170 with the FDT86256 devices. They will deliver more power and are more resistant to accidental antenna mis-connections and spikes than the BS170 finals plus it includes the 1N4756A zener for added protection. It works with all three (tr)uSDX models, Classic, Low, and High band. You will be installing a three pin socket at the original Q3 location for the module pcb to attach to the RF board. When completed the new finals/heatsink board will have the same height as the surrounding toroids, so there are no changes needed for the case. To build the module you will need a soldering iron, rosin core solder, side cutters.
